Three parents take their health, wellness and financial lives into their own hands with a blog.
Fountain, CO (PRWEB) November 1, 2012

Before the Thanksgiving turkey binge and over eating during Christmas until lapsing into a food comma, one group of determined bloggers decided to challenge themselves with a new Year’s resolution 40 days prior to new Year’s Day, a preemptive strike on the traditional new Year’s commitment.

Bruce Elers, Sheila Sye and may Zuma, three thirty-something parents fed up with being overweight and out of work decided to develop newdietleads.com. their goal was to put together a collection of resources and articles with diet tips, weight loss plans and fitness strategies. They made an oath not in blood, but with their blog.

“We wanted to help each other. We wanted to do something to give each other some encouragement to keep fighting and get better,” says Bruce, a father of two. They participate on the site in their free time after fighting traffic and putting the kids to bed.

Their site promotes products and services like The Diet Solution Program from nutritionist Isabel De Los Rios and Tom Venuto’s Burn the fat. Both of these programs, like the blog, are dedicated to regular people working past the typical new Year’s resolution three month burn out to achieve the desired result with hard work and perseverance.

They are participating in programs like Power 90 Extreme (P90X) and getting memberships at the local Anytime Fitness. These are parents on a mission. Unfortunately, they are a shrinking minority in the United States as the percentage of adults age 20 years and over are classified as either overweight (34%) or obese (34%) according to a 2007–2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).

Weight loss is only half of the reason the group decided to put up the site. “The beauty of the site is that it can also make money. These are still tough economic times for some of us.” using systems like Google Adsense and Clickbank Affiliate programs, these parents are hoping the blog will supplement their incomes. In some cases, the alternative is a second job or putting the kids in full time day care.

This is a story of three parents taking their health, wellness and financial fate into their own hands for 2014 starting in 2013.
